Facebook - the dark side
You may have noticed that I gave in I have moved over to the dark side, I joined Facebook! Most of you know how against Facebook I am. I felt the need to give in when i learned that not only my non-technical brother who doesn't have a computer in his home is on Facebook, but both my Mother and Father are on Facebook too. (My Dad has been on My Space for years!) I figure if I have to help them with their facebook pages, because they (mom) don't really understand it all then I may as well join too.
I have actually been on Facebook for about three years now via my Eric's page. I log into his whenever I need to talk to someone that I only have contact with via Facebook or I simply logon just to spy on others. That has been working for me just fine. I think that the kicker for me was that Eric is not friends with people that just I know ie my cousins and work people. I like to be able to know what is going on with the people that I don't see everyday and also the people that I wouldn't otherwise have that much insight into their lives. On the other hand I really don't want these people that wouldn't have insight into my life to suddenly have that insight, that is why the husband's page was working for me just fine. Basically I want to have my cake and eat it too. It wasn't until this girl that I work with went on vacation for two weeks and got engaged while away and no-one really new that she even had a boyfriend, let alone a serious one! Once I figured out that the news broke on Facebook and I almost missed the early news I knew that I had to join. Thanks to Emily I will always be in the loop as far as office gossip goes but now that I have joined Facebook I am definitely guaranteed an in.
I was very weary of Facebook as I can most certainly find plenty of ways to waste time on the internet without adding another. With that being said I will not be a daily Facebooker not that I am putting down those who do, but there is no way I can blog, read approximately 60 blogs a day, work, run and keep up with my car keys and keep up with Facebook and all that goes with it. I am already not doing a very good job with this Facebook thing. Considering I accidentally invited everyone in my address book after purposely skipping over many people that are in my address book. No not people that are on Facebook, I invited people that are not on Facebook people that I don't know well enough even if they were on Facebook. For example my boss and my travel agent, opps!!!!! That's why I didn't give into this sooner there is already too much read tape for me to get mixed up with and I have not even been in the "club" for a full 24 hours. This morning I have 62 messages in my g-mail inbox that are related to Facebook. As I sit here in my bathrobe and wet hair, there is no way that I am getting to those invites before I leave for the office. Don't take it personally but you will have to wait until later for me to confirm your friendship because Facebook doesn't pay the bills! I am off to work, have a great day!
Side Note some of you have asked where Eric and I are going for our anniversary. We will be leaving Friday morning for Hilton Head, South Carolina for a Beach Front Vacation! Bouns * we will get to see my best friend Caroline who is pregnant! I grew up 30 minutes north of Hilton Head until my parents moved me to landlocked Alabama!

Birmingham doesn't have what I consider swimable water, that would be a beach, Oak Mountain does not count. I do not swim in lakes nor rivers nor do I think that is exceptable water to swim in. I lived near a beach until I was unvoulentarily moved to Birmingham, and I do feel landlocked. That is what I meant.

Yes, but just think if I did not move you here you would have never met Eric. Have a great time in Hilton Head.
