This call is coming from inside the office.

I am at work today, well yesterday, and my friend/co-worker Emily calls me on my work phone.  First of all I can see that it is her number but that it is not her extension, it is her cell.  I roll backwards and peek out my door and around the corner to see just what she is up to, but she is not at her desk.  At this time she is speaking slowly and softly, I suddenly think that this is just another "office dare".  Emily and I are big fans of office dares and typically tend to get the giggles toward the afternoon, really this type of call is right on track.  Unfortunately this was not a prank, Emily had gone to the ladies room and gotten sick.  She called me to fetch some extra clothes and bring them to her.  No problem, I am on it.  Still thinking in the back of my mind that this could still be a prank and she is armed with bucket of water around the next corner.  Emily had indeed gotten sick and did indeed need those extra clothes.

Several months back I was carpooling with Emily from a late night meeting and I got sick in her car.  I still feel extremely embarrassed about this incident.  I was able to remind Emily that she did not throw-up in my car nor in my office so there really is no need to be embarrassed. (Although I do understand the embarrassment and the need to apologize.)

I wish Emily a restful night and hope that she is feeling much better!  Tomorrow, well today, we have a staff meeting at work.  Maybe today will be the day that Emily breaks out into the national anthem and of course asks all staff members to participate!  She has been trying to cross that pesky little dare off the list for a while now.
