Victor had an oops
My car got into a little bit of a collision all by himself.
I was minding my own business leaving the office when a brick column suddenly appeared behind my car. Everything would have been fine if some silly silver Volvo hadn't parked in MY spot. (A girl at work is going to "tag" my spot because everyone is clearly not aware of the rules.) I had to park in the third parking spot that morning vs the second spot. I am used to two columns beside me, but not one behind me, that one is typically in front of me when I pull out. I smacked right into it, the noise was much worse than the damage. Everyone in the parking lot came over to tell me how close that they have come to doing that before. The word was close, not smack.
The next day everyone in my office had a story of when they hit or almost hit one of the brick columns. If those darn things weren't supporting the building I would start a petition for removal ASAP. I think the funniest story was when this one girl didn't put on her emergency break and when she came outside her car was plush against the pillar, blocking the drivers side door. She then wasn't able to move the car without whipping off the side mirror. I knew that I was not the first one and will not be the last one, but to make sure that I am not a repeat offender I have yet to park in the parking structure again.
Eric of course didn't care at all, I still felt (and feel) really stupid. Eric reminded me that I am the only one that has not hit the pole at the end of our driveway (lets knock on wood), which made me feel a little better. We have had well over 10 people hit that pole, including Eric and both my parents.
Victor is in the shop getting all fixed up and will be "like" new soon. It sure is nice that they now make cars with detachable bumpers.

Poor Victor! I hope you get your spot back. I know the feeling. It makes me really mad when those first year teachers try to get there early and take my spot. Luckily the assistant principal feels the same way, and told their mentors about not taking veteran teacher's spots.

Hi Cassie,
We have all done these things. Yes, I hit the pole and the end of the driveway more than once. Remember the time that tree jumped out and hit me and ballet practice. As long as you are okay that is all that matters. Mom
