LAST VACATION POST, FROM THE HOME OF SUPERMAN HIMSELF

After a vacation it is always hard to get back into the swing of things.  That would be why the vacation blogging has taken a back seat to life.  This is our last installment for our vacation blogging and then I am just going to skip to our current lives.

Our last full day in Nashville Eric and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Metropolis, Illinois.  What is in Metropolis you ask, Superman!!!!

Superman statue.

Although the sight of Superman was super exciting the statue was just an added adventure of our journey.  Our journey in Metropolis began with just a $5 bus ride for Eric and I.  We each paid 5 bucks for a two and a half hour bus ride to a casino.  This being such a great deal, we figured why not.

Eric and I arrived at the casino enjoyed a free buffet and then went off with $20.00 each.  Eric and I played the slots a while and then he went up to the tables.  Neither Eric nor I have ever really gambled before, we were not itching for the experience, but enjoyed it oh so much.  We dabbled here and there, then got enough comps to get another free meal and then headed back to the bus for a long ride with an extra $150.00 each.  Feeling rather good about our very cautious gambling as well as with our beginners luck we quickly learned that this was not the come experience among the other bus riders.

We shook our heads in agreement to the other riders words of, "this sucks", as happy little beginners inside..

This was defiantly an experience and a profitable one to boot.  Hats off to the hometown of Superman.

Thanks for hanging in with us for are long drawn out vacation recaps.

So y'all liked gambling, eh? We should take a trip over to Philadelphia. Mandy and I went with her grandparents last fall--they gave us $100 to play with, and I doubled my share playing blackjack. You can do well playing craps, too!

When did y'all go to Metropolis? We stopped by there once while we were on a spring break mission trip in Paducah, Kentucky.
